The number of Aws who were present at Badr
[ مِنْ بَنِي الْبَدِّيِّ وَحُلَفَائِهِمْ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَمِنْ بَنِي الْبَدِيِّ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ سَاعِدَةَ: أَبُو أُسَيْدٍ مَالِكُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ الْبَدِيِّ وَمَالِكُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ وَهُوَ إلَى الْبَدِيِّ. رَجُلَانِ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: مَالِكُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ: ابْنُ الْبَدِيِّ فِيمَا ذَكَرَ لِي بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ. [ مِنْ بَنِي طَرِيفٍ وَحُلَفَائِهِمْ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَمِنْ بَنِي طَرِيفِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ سَاعِدَةَ: عَبْدُ رَبِّهِ بْنِ حَقِّ بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ وَقَشٍ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ طَرِيفٍ رَجُلٌ. وَمِنْ حُلَفَائِهِمْ، مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ: كَعْبُ بْنُ حِمَارِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ: كَعْبٌ: ابْنُ جَمَّازٍ، وَهُوَ مِنْ غُبْشَانَ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَضَمْرَةُ وَزِيَادٌ وَبَسْبَسُ، بَنُو عَمْرٍو. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: ضَمْرَةُ وَزِيَادٌ، ابْنَا بَشْرٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، مِنْ بَلِيٍّ. خَمْسَةُ نَفَرٍ
Translation
✧ [From the Banu al-Baddi and their allies] Ibn Ishaq said: From the Banu al-Baddi b. 'Amir b. 'Awf b. Harithah b. 'Amr b. al-Khazraj b. Sa'idah: Abu Usayd Malik b. Rabi'ah b. al-Baddi, and Malik b. Mas'ud, who is ascribed to al-Baddi. Two men. Ibn Hisham said: Malik b. Mas'ud: he is Ibn al-Baddi, according to what one of the people of knowledge mentioned to me. [From the Banu Tarif and their allies] Ibn Ishaq said: From the Banu Tarif b. al-Khazraj b. Sa'idah: 'Abd Rabbihi b. Haqq b. Aws b. Waqash b. Tha'labah b. Tarif. One man. And from their allies, from Juhaynah: Ka'b b. Himar b. Tha'labah. Ibn Hisham said: It is also said: Ka'b: Ibn Jammaz, and he is from Ghubshan. Ibn Ishaq said: And Damrah, Ziyad, and Basbas, the sons of 'Amr. Ibn Hisham said: Damrah and Ziyad, the two sons of Bishr. Ibn Ishaq said: And 'Abd Allah b. 'Amir, from Bali. Five persons.
