The number of Aws who were present at Badr
[ مِنْ بَنِي سَالِمٍ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَمِنْ بَنِي سَالِمِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ، ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي الْعَجْلَانِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ: نَوْفَلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نَضْلَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْعَجْلَانِ بْنِ الْعَجْلَانِ. رَجُلٌ. [ مِنْ بَنِي أَصْرَمَ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي أَصْرَمَ بْنِ فِهْرِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ - قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: هَذَا غَنْمُ بْنُ عَوْفٍ، أَخُو سَالِمِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ، وَغَنْمُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، الَّذِي قَبْلَهُ عَلَى مَا قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ -: عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَصْرَمَ، وَأَخُوهُ أَوْسُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ. رَجُلَانِ. [ مِنْ بَنِي دَعْدٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي دَعْدِ بْنِ فِهْرِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ غَنَمٍ: النُّعْمَانُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ دَعْدٍ، وَالنُّعْمَانُ الَّذِي يُقَالُ لَهُ. قَوْقَلُ. رَجُلٌ. وَمِنْ بَنِي قُرْيُوشِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ لَوْذَانَ بْنِ سَالِمٍ - قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ قُرْيُوسُ بْنُ غَنْمٍ - ثَابِتُ بْنُ هَزَّالِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ قُرْيُوشٍ. رَجُلٌ. وَمِنْ بَنِي مَرْضَخَةَ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ: مَالِكُ بْنُ الدُّخْشُمِ بْنِ مَرْضَخَةَ رَجُلٌ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: مَالِكُ بْنُ الدُّخْشُمِ: ابْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ الدُّخْشُمِ بْنِ مَرْضَخَةَ
Translation
✧ [From the Banū Sālim] Ibn Isḥāq said: And from the Banū Sālim b. ʿAwf b. ʿAmr b. al-Khazraj, then from the Banū al-ʿAjlān b. Zayd b. Ghanm b. Sālim: Nawfal b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Naḍla b. Mālik b. al-ʿAjlān b. al-ʿAjlān. One man. [From the Banū Aṣram] And from the Banū Aṣram b. Fihr b. Thaʿlaba b. Ghanm b. Sālim b. ʿAwf — Ibn Hishām said: This is Ghanm b. ʿAwf, brother of Sālim b. ʿAwf b. ʿAmr b. ʿAwf b. al-Khazraj, and Ghanm b. Sālim, the one before him, according to what Ibn Isḥāq said —: ʿUbāda b. al-Ṣāmit b. Qays b. Aṣram, and his brother Aws b. al-Ṣāmit. Two men. [From the Banū Daʿd] And from the Banū Daʿd b. Fihr b. Thaʿlaba b. Ghanam: al-Nuʿmān b. Mālik b. Thaʿlaba b. Daʿd, and al-Nuʿmān who is called Qawqal. One man. And from the Banū Quryūsh b. Ghanm b. Umayya b. Lawdhān b. Sālim — Ibn Hishām said: And it is said Quryūs b. Ghanm —: Thābit b. Hazzāl b. ʿAmr b. Quryūsh. One man. And from the Banū Marḍakha b. Ghanm b. Sālim: Mālik b. al-Dukhshum b. Marḍakha. One man. Ibn Hishām said: Mālik b. al-Dukhshum: son of Mālik b. al-Dukhshum b. Marḍakha.
