Sirat Ibn Hisham 467
[ حَدِيثُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ مَسْرَاهُ ﷺ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ الْأَخْنَسِ: أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، كَانَ إذَا سُئِلَ عَنْ مَسْرَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، قَالَ: كَانَتْ رُؤْيَا مِنْ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى صَادِقَةً
Translation
✧ [The ḥadīth of Muʿāwiyah concerning his night journey ﷺ] Ibn Isḥāq said: Yaʿqūb b. ʿUtbah b. al-Mughīrah b. al-Akhnas related to me that Muʿāwiyah b. Abī Sufyān, when asked about the night journey of the Messenger of God ﷺ, said: “It was a true vision from God Almighty.”
