ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib's Administration of the Siqāyah and Rifādah
[ وِلَايَةُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ السِّقَايَةَ وَالرِّفَادَةَ ] قَالَ: ثُمَّ وَلِيَ عَبْدُ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنُ هَاشِمِ السِّقَايَةَ وَالرِّفَادَةَ بَعْدَ عَمِّهِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، فَأَقَامَهَا لِلنَّاسِ، وَأَقَامَ لِقَوْمِهِ مَا كَانَ آبَاؤُهُ يُقِيمُونَ قَبْلَهُ لِقَوْمِهِمْ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ، وَشَرُفَ فِي قَوْمِهِ شَرَفًا لَمْ يَبْلُغْهُ أَحَدٌ مِنْ آبَائِهِ، وَأَحَبَّهُ قَوْمُهُ وَعَظُمَ خَطَرُهُ فِيهِمْ
Translation
✧ [ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib's assumption of as-Siqāyah and ar-Rifādah] He said: Then ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib b. Hāshim assumed as-siqāyah and ar-rifādah after his paternal uncle al-Muṭṭalib. He established them for the people, and he established for his people what his forefathers before him had established for their people of their affairs. He attained a nobility among his people that none of his forefathers had reached, and his people loved him, and his importance among them became great.
