The death of ʿĀmir in response to the Messenger's supplication against him
[ مَوْتُ عَامِرٍ بِدُعَاءِ الرَّسُولِ عَلَيْهِ ] وَخَرَجُوا رَاجِعِينَ إلَى بِلَادِهِمْ، حَتَّى إذَا كَانُوا بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ، بَعَثَ اللَّهُ عَلَى عَامِرِ بْنِ الطُّفَيْلِ الطَّاعُونَ فِي عُنُقِهِ، فَقَتَلَهُ اللَّهُ فِي بَيْتِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي سَلُولَ، فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ: يَا بَنِي عَامِرٍ، أَغُدَّةٌ كَغُدَّةِ الْبَكْرِ فِي بَيْتِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي سَلُولَ قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ أَغُدَّةٌ كَغُدَّةِ الْإِبِلِ، وَمَوْتًا فِي بَيْتِ سَلُولِيَّةٍ
Translation
✧ [The death of ʿĀmir through the Messenger's supplication against him] They departed returning to their lands, until when they were on part of the way, God sent upon ʿĀmir b. al-Ṭufayl the plague in his neck, and God killed him in the house of a woman of Banū Salūl. He began to say: 'O Banū ʿĀmir, a gland like the gland of the young camel in the house of a woman of Banū Salūl!' Ibn Hishām said: It is also said: 'a gland like the gland of camels, and death in the house of a Salūlī woman.'
