The genealogy of ʿUtbah b. Ghazwān
[ نَسَبُ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: فَبِهَذَا النَّسَبِ خَالَفَهُمْ عُتْبَةَ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ بْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ وَهْبِ بْنِ نُسَيْبِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ مَازِنِ بْنِ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ عِكْرِمَةَ. [ عَوْدٌ إلَى أَوْلَادِ عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَأَبُو عَمْرٍو، وَتُمَاضِرُ، وَقِلَابَةُ وَحَيَّةُ، وَرَيْطَةُ، وَأُمُّ الْأَخْثَمِ، وَأُمُّ سُفْيَانَ: بَنُو عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ. فَأُمُّ أَبِي عَمْرٍو: رَيْطَةُ، امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ؛ وَأُمُّ سَائِرِ النِّسَاءِ: عَاتِكَةُ بِنْتُ مُرَّةَ بْنِ هِلَالٍ أُمُّ هَاشِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنَافِ؛ وَأُمُّهَا صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ حَوْزَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَلُولَ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ بَكْرِ بْنِ هَوَازِنَ: وَأُمُّ صَفِيَّةَ: بِنْتُ عَائِذِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ الْعَشِيرَةِ بْنِ مَذْحِجٍ
Translation
✧ [The genealogy of ʿUtbah b. Ghazwān] Ibn Hishām said: By this genealogy ʿUtbah b. Ghazwān b. Jābir b. Wahb b. Nusayb b. Mālik b. al-Ḥārith b. Māzin b. Manṣūr b. ʿIkrimah differed from them. [Return to the children of ʿAbd Manāf] Ibn Hishām said: Abū ʿAmr, Tumāḍir, Qilābah, Ḥayyah, Rayṭah, Umm al-Akhtham, and Umm Sufyān were the children of ʿAbd Manāf. The mother of Abū ʿAmr was Rayṭah, a woman from Thaqīf; and the mother of the rest of the daughters was ʿĀtikah bt. Murrah b. Hilāl, the mother of Hāshim b. ʿAbd Manāf; and her mother was Ṣafiyyah bt. Ḥawzah b. ʿAmr b. Salūl b. Ṣaʿṣaʿah b. Muʿāwiyah b. Bakr b. Hawāzin; and the mother of Ṣafiyyah was the daughter of ʿĀʾidh Allāh b. Saʿd al-ʿAshīrah b. Madhḥij.
