What was revealed of the Qurʾān concerning the detachment of al-Rajīʿ

Translation

✧ [The poetry of Ḥassān in weeping for Khubayb] And Ḥassān b. Thābit said, weeping for Khubayb: What ails your eye, that its tears do not cease, pouring upon the breast like restless pearls, for Khubayb, the youth of youths—they knew—no coward when you meet him, nor one given to rashness. So go, Khubayb—may God reward you with good, and the Garden of Eternity, near the houris, in the highest companions. What will you say when the Prophet asks you, while the righteous angels are in the horizon: “Why did you kill God’s martyr on account of a tyrannical man who wrought corruption in the lands and the wayfarers’ paths?” Ibn Hishām said: And it is also related: “the roads.” And we have omitted the rest of it, because he spoke coarsely in it.
