Sirat Ibn Hisham 1046
Account of the poetry recited on the day of Uḥud
Translation
✧ Kaʿb also said, weeping for Ḥamzah: Ṣafiyyah, arise and do not falter, and make the women weep for Ḥamzah, and do not weary of prolonging the weeping for the lion of God in the battle-array. For he was a strength to our orphans and a lion of wars in full armour. He sought thereby the approval of Aḥmad and the good pleasure of the Lord of the Throne and of Might.
