✧ The Prayers

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَزَالُ يُسْتَجَابُ لِلْعَبْدِ مَا لَمْ يَدْعُ بِإِثْمٍ أَوْ قَطِيعَةِ رَحِمٍ مَا لَمْ يَسْتَعْجِلْ» قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ يَسْتَعْجِلُ؟ قَالَ « قَدْ دَعَوْتُ فَلَمْ يُسْتَجَبْ لِي فَيَنْحَسِرُ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ فَيَتْرُكُ الدُّعَاءَ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The servant's supplication continues to be answered as long as he does not supplicate for sin or severing ties of kinship, and as long as he does not hasten." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, how does he hasten?" He said, "He says, 'I have supplicated and I have not been answered,' so he gives up at that point and abandons supplication."
