أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي بَشِيرُ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الْخَوْلَانِيُّ أَنَّ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ التُّجِيبِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ

«يَكُونُ خَلْفٌ بَعْدَ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا ثُمَّ يَكُونُ خَلْفٌ يَقْرَؤُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لَا يَعْدُو تَرَاقِيَهُمْ وَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ ثَلَاثَةٌ مُؤْمِنٌ وَمُنَافِقٌ وَفَاجِرٌ»

✧ "A generation will come after sixty years who neglect the prayer and follow lusts; they will meet with ruin. Then there will be a generation who recite the Qur'an but it will not pass beyond their collarbones. The Qur'an is recited by three: a believer, a hypocrite, and a transgressor."
