أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْقَيْسِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ

«يَكُونُ قَوْمٌ فِي النَّارِ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَكُونُوا ثُمَّ يَرْحَمُهُمُ اللَّهُ فَيُخْرِجُهُمْ مِنْهَا فَيَكُونُونَ فِي أَدْنَى الْجَنَّةِ فِي نَهْرٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْحَيَوَانُ لَوِ اسْتَضَافَهُمْ أَهْلُ الدُّنْيَا لَأَطْعَمُوهُمْ وَسَقُوهُمْ وَأَتْحَفُوهُمْ»

✧ “There will be a people in the Fire for as long as Allah wills, then Allah will have mercy on them and bring them out of it. They will be in the lowest part of Paradise, at a river called al-Ḥayawān. If the people of this world were to host them, they would feed them, give them drink, and present them with gifts.”

Numayr: he died in 74 AH. ʿAmr b. ʿAlī said, and Abū Bakr b. Abī Shaybah, and Abū ʿUbayd: died in the year 75 AH. Khalīfah b. Khayyāṭ said: he died in 76 AH, also said: the year 74 AH. And he said elsewhere: the year 76 AH or 77 AH
