✧ "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun when there is no cloud over it?" They said: No, O Messenger of Allah. He said: "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on the night of the full moon when there is no cloud over it?" They said: No, O Messenger of Allah. He said: "Then you will see Him on the Day of Resurrection just like that. Allah will gather the people on the Day of Resurrection and say: Whoever used to worship something, let him follow it. So those who worshipped the sun will follow the sun, those who worshipped the moon will follow the moon, and those who worshipped false gods will follow false gods. This nation will remain, including its hypocrites. Allah, Majestic and Exalted, will come to them in a form other than the one they know and say: I am your Lord. They will say: We seek refuge in Allah from you; this is our place until our Lord comes to us, and when our Lord comes, we will recognize Him. He said: Then He will come to them in the form they know and say: I am your Lord. They will say: You are our Lord. Then a bridge will be set up over Hell." The Prophet ﷺ said: "I will be the first to cross it, and the call of the messengers on that day will be: O Allah, grant safety, grant safety. On it will be hooks like the thorns of the sa'dan; do you know the thorns of sa'dan?" They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said: "They are like the thorns of sa'dan, but no one knows their size except Allah. They will snatch people according to their deeds. Among them are those who will be destroyed by their deeds, and among them are those who will be torn apart, then saved. When Allah finishes judging between His servants and wishes to bring out of the Fire those He wishes among those who testified that there is no god but Allah, He will command the angels to bring them out, and they will recognize them by the mark of prostration. He said: Allah has forbidden the Fire to consume the trace of prostration on the son of Adam. He said: So they will bring them out, having been burned, and water called the water of life will be poured over them, and they will grow like the seed in the silt of a flood. He said: There will remain a man facing the Fire, and he will say: O Lord, its smell has poisoned me and its heat has burned me; turn my face away from the Fire. He will keep supplicating, and Allah, Majestic and Exalted, will say: Perhaps if I grant you that, you will ask Me for something else. He will say: No, by Your might, I will not ask You for anything else. So He will turn his face away from the Fire. Then he will say after that: O Lord, bring me near the gate of Paradise. Allah, Majestic and Exalted, will say: Did you not claim that you would not ask Me for anything else? Woe to you, O son of Adam, how treacherous you are! He will keep supplicating, and Allah, Majestic and Exalted, will say: Perhaps if I grant you that, you will ask Me for something else. He will say: No, by Your might, I will not ask You for anything else. He will make covenants and promises to Allah that he will not ask for anything else. So He will bring him near the gate of Paradise. When he is brought near it, Paradise will open up for him, and when he sees what is in it, he will remain silent as long as Allah wills, then say: O Lord, admit me into Paradise. Allah, Majestic and Exalted, will say: Did you not claim that you would not ask Me for anything else? Woe to you, O son of Adam, how treacherous you are! He will say: O Lord, do not make me the most wretched of Your creation. He said: He will keep supplicating until Allah, Majestic and Exalted, laughs, and when He laughs, He will permit him to enter Paradise. When he enters, it will be said to him: Wish for such and such, wish for such and such. He will wish until his wishes are exhausted. Then Allah, Majestic and Exalted, will say: That is for you, and the like of it with it." Abu Said said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "It is for you and ten times its like." Abu Hurairah said: I memorized, "It is for you and the like of it with it." And that man will be the last of the people of Paradise to enter.
