أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «يَقُولُ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا

يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ اسْتَطْعَمْتُكَ فَلَمْ تُطْعِمْنِي قَالَ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ وَكَيْفَ اسْتَطْعَمْتَنِي وَلَمْ أُطْعِمْكَ وَأَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ؟ قَالَ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ عَبْدِي فُلَانًا اسْتَطْعَمَكَ فَلَمْ تُطْعِمْهُ؟ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّكَ لَوْ أَطْعَمْتَهُ لَوَجَدْتَ ذَلِكَ عِنْدِي؟ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ اسْتَسْقَيْتُكَ فَلَمْ تَسْقِنِي فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ وَكَيْفَ أَسْقِيكَ وَأَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ؟ فَقَالَ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ عَبْدِيَ فُلَانًا اسْتَسْقَاكَ فَلَمْ تَسْقِهِ؟ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ عَبْدِيَ فُلَانًا لَوْ سَقَيْتَهُ لَوَجَدْتَ ذَلِكَ عِنْدِي؟ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ مَرِضْتُ فَلَمْ تَعُدْنِي فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ وَكَيْفَ أَعُودُكَ وَأَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ؟ فَقَالَ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ عَبْدِيَ فُلَانًا مَرِضَ فَلَوْ كُنْتَ عُدْتَهُ لَوَجَدْتَ ذَلِكَ عِنْدِي»

✧ O son of Adam, I asked you for food and you did not feed Me. He will say: 'O Lord, how could You ask me for food when You are the Lord of the worlds?' He will say: 'Did you not know that My servant so-and-so asked you for food and you did not feed him? Did you not know that if you had fed him, you would have found that with Me?' O son of Adam, I asked you for drink and you did not give Me to drink. He will say: 'O Lord, how could I give You drink when You are the Lord of the worlds?' He will say: 'Did you not know that My servant so-and-so asked you for drink and you did not give him to drink? Did you not know that if you had given him to drink, you would have found that with Me?' O son of Adam, I was sick and you did not visit Me. He will say: 'O Lord, how could I visit You when You are the Lord of the worlds?' He will say: 'Did you not know that My servant so-and-so was sick? If you had visited him, you would have found that with Me.'
