أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حُمَيْدًا وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ
خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَقَدْ عَصَبَ رَأْسَهُ فَتَلَقَّتْهُ الْأَنْصَارُ بِوُجُوهِهِمْ وَفِتْيَانِهِمْ فَقَالَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكُمْ إِنَّ الْأَنْصَارَ قَدْ قَضَوَا الَّذِي عَلَيْهِمْ وَبَقِيَ الَّذِي عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا إِلَى مُحْسِنِهِمْ وَتَجَاوَزُوا عَنْ مُسِيئِهِمْ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ came out one day with his head bandaged, and the Helpers met him with their men and youths. He said, “By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, I love you. The Helpers have fulfilled what was upon them, and what is upon you remains, so be good to their good-doers and overlook their wrongdoers.”
