أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ الْمَاجِشُونِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ

«كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَتَتَبَّعُ آثَارَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَكُلُّ مَنْزِلٍ نَزَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَنْزِلُ فِيهِ فَنَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَحْتَ سَمُرَةٍ فَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَجِيءُ بِالْمَاءِ فَيَصُبُّهُ فِي أَصْلِ السَّمُرَةِ كَيْلاَ تَيْبَسَ»

✧ Ibn Umar used to follow the traces of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and every place where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stopped, he would stop there too. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once stopped under a samura tree, and Ibn Umar would bring water and pour it at the base of the samura tree so that it would not dry out.
