أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سُهَيْلِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ قَالَ

بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُجَهِّزُ بَعْثًا فِي مَوْضِعِ سُوقِ النَّخَّاسِينَ الْيَوْمَ إِذْ طَلَعَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْعَبَّاسُ عَمُّ نَبِيِّكُمْ أَجْوَدُ قُرَيْشٍ كَفًّا وَأَوْصَلُهَا»

✧ While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was equipping an expedition in the place of today's suq al-nakhkhasin (slave market), al-'Abbas b. 'Abd al-Muttalib appeared. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Al-'Abbas is the paternal uncle of your Prophet, the most generous of Quraysh in hand and the most mindful of kinship ties."
