أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ خِرَاشٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَتِيقُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ ثَابِتِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ لِأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ حَدِّثْنِي عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَتَّى أُحَدِّثَ عَنْكَ فَإِنَّ كُلَّ أَبْنَاءِ الصَّحَابَةِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ صَحِبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِصُحْبَةٍ إِلَّا وَقَدْ صَحِبْتُهُ مِثْلَهَا أَوْ أَفْضَلَ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ يَا بُنَيَّ أَنَّ أُمَّكَ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ كَانَتْ تَحْتِي وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ خَالَتُكَ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ أُمِّي صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَأَنَّ أَخْوَالِي حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَأَبُو طَالِبٍ وَالْعَبَّاسُ وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ ابْنُ خَالِي وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ عَمَّتِي خَدِيجَةُ بِنْتُ خُوَيْلِدٍ وَكَانَتْ تَحْتَهُ وَأَنَّ ابْنَتَهَا فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ ﷺ آمِنَةُ بِنْتُ وَهْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنَافِ بْنِ زُهْرَةَ وَأَنَّ أُمَّ صَفِيَّةَ وَحَمْزَةَ هَالَةُ بِنْتُ وَهْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنَافِ بْنِ زُهْرَةَ وَلَقَدْ صَحِبْتُهُ بِأَحْسَنَ صُحْبَةٍ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ قَالَ عَلَيَّ مَا لَمْ أَقُلْ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»

✧ Abd Allah b. al-Zubayr said to his father: O father, tell me about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so that I may relate from you, for every son of a Companion relates from his father. He said: O my son, there is no one who accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a companionship except that I accompanied him with the like of it or better. You know, O my son, that your mother Asma bt. Abi Bakr was my wife, and you know that A'isha bt. Abi Bakr is your maternal aunt, and you know that my mother is Safiyya bt. Abd al-Muttalib, and that my maternal uncles are Hamza b. Abd al-Muttalib, Abu Talib, and al-Abbas, and that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is the son of my maternal uncle. You know that my paternal aunt is Khadija bt. Khuwaylid, and she was his wife, and that her daughter is Fatima bt. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. You know that his mother ﷺ is Amina bt. Wahb b. Abd Manaf b. Zuhra, and that the mother of Safiyya and Hamza is Hala bt. Wahb b. Abd Manaf b. Zuhra. And I accompanied him with the best companionship, praise be to Allah. I heard him ﷺ say, “Whoever says about me what I did not say, let him take his seat in the Fire.”
