أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قُلْتُ لِفَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَأَيْتُكِ أَكْبَبْتِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي مَرَضِهِ فَبَكَيْتِ ثُمَّ أَكْبَبْتِ عَلَيْهِ الثَّانِيَةَ فَضَحِكْتِ « قَالَتْ » أَكْبَبْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ مَيِّتٌ فَبَكَيْتُ ثُمَّ أَكْبَبْتُ عَلَيْهِ الثَّانِيَةَ فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنِّي أَوَّلُ أَهْلِهِ لُحُوقًا بِهِ وَأَنِّي سَيِّدَةُ نِسَاءِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَّا مَرْيَمَ بِنْتَ عِمْرَانَ فَضَحِكَتُ

Translation

✧ I said to Fatimah bint Rasulillah ﷺ, 'I saw you lean over the Prophet ﷺ during his illness and weep, then lean over him a second time and laugh.' She said, 'I leaned over him and he told me that he was going to die, so I wept. Then I leaned over him a second time and he told me that I would be the first of his family to join him and that I am the mistress of the women of the people of Paradise except Maryam bint ʿImran, so I laughed.'
