✧ I was ill, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me while I was saying, "O Allah, if my appointed time has come, then give me rest; if it is delayed, then raise me; and if it is a trial, then grant me patience." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "What did you say?" So he repeated it to him. He said, "Then he struck him with his foot and said, 'O Allah, cure him or heal him'—Shu'bah was the one who was unsure—" He said, "I never complained of that pain after that."
