أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ بِالْبَصْرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ وَأَبِي عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ السَّلْمَانِيِّ قَالَ

ذَكَرَ عَلِيٌّ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ الْخَوَارِجَ فَقَالَ «فِيهِمْ رَجُلٌ مُخْدَجُ الْيَدِ أَوْ مُودَنُ الْيَدِ لَوْلَا أَنْ تَبْطَرُوا لَأَخْبَرْتُكُمْ بِمَا وَعَدَ اللَّهُ عَلَى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّهِ ﷺ لِمَنْ قَتَلَهُمْ» قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لِعَلِيٍّ أَسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «إِي وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ إِي وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ إِي وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ»

✧ 'Ali, ؓ, mentioned the Khawarij and said: "Among them is a man with a deformed hand or a defective hand. Were it not that you would become exultant, I would inform you of what Allah has promised on the tongue of His Prophet ﷺ for those who kill them." So I said to 'Ali, "Did you hear it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said, "Yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah, yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah, yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah."
