أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ الْعُثْمَانَيُّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ امْرَأَةٌ فَكَلَّمَتْهُ فِي شَيْءٍ فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَرْجِعَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ رَجَعْتُ فَلَمْ أَجِدْكَ كَأَنَّهَا تَعْنِي الْمَوْتَ قَالَ «فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدِينِي فَائْتِ أَبَا بَكْرٍ»

✧ A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and spoke to him about something, and he told her to come back to him. She said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if I come back and do not find you?" as if she meant death. He said, "If you do not find me, then go to Abu Bakr."
