أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا كَامِلُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي نَعَامَةَ

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْمُغَفَّلِ سَمِعَ ابْنًا لَهُ يَقُولُ فِي دُعَائِهِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْقَصْرَ الْأَبْيَضَ عَنْ يَمِينِ الْجَنَّةِ إِذَا دَخَلْتُهَا قَالَ أَيْ بُنَيَّ سَلِ اللَّهَ الْجَنَّةَ وَتَعَوَّذْ بِهِ مِنَ النَّارِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «سَيَكُونُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ قَوْمٌ يَعْتَدُونَ فِي الدُّعَاءِ وَالطُّهُورِ»

✧ ‘Abdullāh b. al-Mughaffal heard a son of his saying in his supplication: “O Allah, I ask You for the white palace on the right side of Paradise when I enter it.” He said: “O my son, ask Allah for Paradise and seek refuge in Him from the Fire, for I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: ‘There will be in this ummah a people who exceed the bounds in supplication and purification.’”
