✧ «You will make a secure peace treaty with the Romans, until you and they together raid an enemy behind them, and you will be victorious, safe, and gain spoils, until you camp in a meadow. Then a man from the Romans will say, 'The cross has prevailed,' and a man from the Muslims will say, 'Rather, Allah has prevailed.' They will exchange these words, and their cross will be not far from the Muslims. Then a man from the Muslims will rise to it and smash it. They will rise against the one who broke their cross and strike his neck. The Muslims will rise to their weapons and they will fight, and Allah will honor that band with martyrdom. Then they will come to their king and say, 'We have spared you [the burden of] the Arabian Peninsula.' Then they will gather for the great battle and come under eighty banners, under each banner twelve thousand [men]."
