✧ Musaylimah came with a great army and stopped among the palm trees. It reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said, "If Muhammad grants me the authority after him, I will follow him." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ approached with no one but Thabit b. Qays b. Shammas, holding a palm branch, until he stood before him. Then he said, "If you asked me for this, I would not give it to you. If you turn back, Allah will destroy you. This is Thabit; he will answer you on my behalf. I think you are the one I saw in what I was shown."
