أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ الْحَكَمِ حَدَّثَنَا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
قَالَ لِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قُلْتُ يَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَمُوتَ فِيهِ فَمَاتَ يَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ عَشِيَّةً وَدُفِنَ لَيْلًا

✧ Abu Bakr said to me, "On which day did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ die?" I said, "Monday." He said, "I hope to die on that day." And he died on Monday in the evening and was buried at night.
