✧ A Jew from Banu Zurayq, called Labid b. al-A'sam, bewitched the Prophet ﷺ until the Prophet ﷺ would imagine that he had done something when he had not done it. Then one day or one night, the Prophet ﷺ supplicated, then supplicated again, then said, 'O 'A'ishah, do you know that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has answered me in what I asked Him? Two men came to me: one sat at my head and the other at my feet. The one at my feet said to the one at my head, "What is the man's ailment?" He said, "He is bewitched." He said, "Who bewitched him?" He said, "Labid b. al-A'sam." He said, "In what?" He said, "In a comb and hair combings and the spathe of a male date palm." He said, "Where is it?" He said, "In the well of Dhi Arwan."' He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to it with a group of his companions, then came back and said, 'O 'A'ishah, its water was as if it were the infusion of henna, and its palm trees were as if they were the heads of devils.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, why did you not burn it or take it out?' He said, 'As for me, Allah has healed me, and I disliked to stir up any evil among the people because of it.' So he ordered it, and it was buried.
