أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِينَ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ {وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ} قَالَ «يَا مَعْشَرَ قُرَيْشٍ اشْتَرُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ لَا أُغْنِي عَنْكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ لَا أُغْنِي عَنْكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا يَا عَبَّاسُ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ لَا أُغْنِي عَنْكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا يَا صَفِيَّةُ عَمَّةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ لَا أُغْنِي عَنْكِ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا يَا فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ سَلِينِي مَا شِئْتِ لَا أُغْنِي عَنْكِ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا»

✧ When {And warn your nearest kindred} was revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said, 'O assembly of Quraysh, ransom yourselves from Allah, for I cannot avail you anything before Allah. O Banu Abd al-Muttalib, I cannot avail you anything before Allah. O Abbas b. Abd al-Muttalib, I cannot avail you anything before Allah. O Safiyyah, paternal aunt of the Messenger of Allah, I cannot avail you anything before Allah. O Fatimah bt. Muhammad, ask me whatever you wish, but I cannot avail you anything before Allah.'

يرويه الزهري واختلف عنه فرواه يونس وشعيب وعبيد الله بن أبي زياد وحبيب بن أبي مرزوق عن الزهري عن سعيد وأبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة وكذلك قال سلامة عن عقيل وقال رشدين عن عقيل عن الزهري عن أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة وكلاهما محفوظ
machine translationAl-Zuhrī narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Yūnus, Shuʿayb, ʿUbaydullāh b. Abī Ziyād and Ḥabīb b. Abī Marzūq narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Saʿīd and Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah. Salāmah said likewise from ʿUqayl. Rishdīn said from ʿUqayl, from al-Zuhrī, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah. Both are preserved (maḥfūẓ).
