✧ We raided with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Hunayn. When we faced the enemy, I advanced and climbed a hill. A man from the enemy confronted me, and I shot an arrow at him, but he hid from me, and I did not know what to do. Then I looked at the people, and they had appeared from another hill and met the companions of the Prophet ﷺ. The companions of the Prophet ﷺ fled, and I returned defeated, wearing two cloaks, wrapped in one and draped with the other. My cloak slipped, so I gathered it and passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in flight while he was on his gray mule. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ibn al-Akwa' saw fright." When they surrounded the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he dismounted from the mule, took a handful of dust from the ground, faced their faces with it, and said, "May the faces be disfigured." Allah did not create any human among them but He filled his eyes with dust from that handful, and they turned back in retreat, and Allah defeated them, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided their spoils among the Muslims.
