✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him to Yemen, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out with him advising him while Muʿādh was riding and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was walking beneath his mount. When he finished, he said: “O Muʿādh, perhaps you may not meet me after this year of mine; perhaps you will pass by my mosque and my grave.” Muʿādh wept out of sorrow for parting from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned toward Madinah and said: “These people of my household think they are the closest of people to me, but the closest of people to me are the God-fearing, whoever they are and wherever they are. O Allah, I do not permit for them the corruption of what You have set right. By Allah, they will turn my community away from its religion as a vessel is overturned in the valley.”
