✧ The Prophet ﷺ was asked until they pressed him with questions, and he said: “Ask me, for by Allah, you will not ask me about anything except that I will make it clear to you.” Anas said: The people fell silent and feared that it might be before a great matter. We began to look right and left, and I saw every man burying his head in his garment, weeping, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept saying: “Ask me, for by Allah, you will not ask me about anything except that I will make it clear to you.” Then a man stood up from the side of the mosque and said: O Prophet of Allah, who is my father? He said: “Your father is Ḥudhāfah.” Then Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb ؓ stood up and said: O Prophet of Allah, we are content with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad ﷺ as Messenger. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of trials. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: “I have never seen good and evil like today; indeed Paradise and Hell were depicted for me, and I saw them beyond that wall.”
