أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ الْحُسَيْنُ بن حُرَيْثٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ () عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَقِيلٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى يَقُولُ

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُكْثِرُ الذِّكْرَ وَيُقِلُّ اللَّغْوَ وَيُطِيلُ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُقَصِّرُ الْخُطْبَةَ وَلَا يَأْنَفُ وَلَا يَسْتَكْثِرُ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ مَعَ الْأَرْمَلَةِ وَالْمِسْكِينِ فَيَقْضِيَ لَهُ حَاجَتَهُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to remember Allah a great deal, speak little nonsense, lengthen the prayer, shorten the sermon, and not disdain or deem it too much to walk with a widow or a poor person in order to fulfill his need.
