أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شَدَّادُ أَبُو عَمَّارٍ عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَى كِنَانَةَ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَاصْطَفَى قُرَيْشًا مِنْ كِنَانَةَ وَاصْطَفَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ وَاصْطَفَانِي مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ فَأَنَا سَيِّدُ وَلَدِ آدَمَ وَلَا فَخْرَ وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ تَنْشَقُّ عَنْهُ الْأَرْضُ وَأَوَّلُ شَافِعٍ وَأَوَّلُ مُشَفَّعٍ»

✧ “Allah chose Kinanah from the descendants of Isma'il, chose Quraysh from Kinanah, chose Banu Hashim from Quraysh, and chose me from Banu Hashim. Thus I am the master of the children of Adam, without boasting. I will be the first from whom the earth will split open, the first intercessor, and the first whose intercession will be accepted.”
