✧ I said to Ibn 'Abbas: 'Nawf al-Bikali claims that Moses ﷺ is not the companion of al-Khidr, but it was another Moses.' He said: 'The enemy of Allah has lied. Ubayy b. Ka'b informed us from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said: "Moses stood up among the Children of Israel as a preacher, and it was said to him: 'Who is the most knowledgeable of people?' He said: 'I am.' Allah reproached him for not attributing knowledge to Him, so He said: 'A servant of Mine at the junction of the two seas is more knowledgeable than you.' He said: 'O Lord, how can I reach him?' He said: 'Take a fish and put it in a basket; wherever you lose the fish, he will be there.' So he took the fish and placed it in the basket and gave it to his servant. They set out until they came to the rock. Moses slept, and the fish stirred in the basket, came out, and fell into the sea. Allah held back the flow of water for it, making it like an arch, so that the sea became a path for the fish, and a wonder for Moses and his servant. They went on walking. When it was the next day, Moses felt fatigue and said: 'Bring us our meal; we have certainly met with fatigue from this journey of ours.'"
