أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ

«إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ الزَّمَانَ الطَّوِيلَ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ثُمَّ يَخْتِمُ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَيَجْعَلُهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ الزَّمَانَ الطَّوِيلَ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ثُمَّ يَخْتِمُ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَجْعَلُهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ»

Translation

✧ A man may perform the deeds of the people of Paradise for a long time, then Allah seals him with the deeds of the people of the Fire, and He makes him one of the people of the Fire. And a man may perform the deeds of the people of the Fire for a long time, then Allah seals him with the deeds of the people of Paradise, and He makes him one of the people of Paradise.
