✧ My father, Sahl b. Hunayf, bathed at al-Kharrar and took off a jubba he was wearing while 'Amir b. Rabi'a was looking on. Sahl was a fair-skinned man with beautiful skin. 'Amir b. Rabi'a said, 'I have never seen anything like today, nor the skin of a virgin.' Sahl fell ill on the spot and his illness became severe. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed that Sahl had fallen ill and that he would not be able to travel with you, O Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to him, and Sahl told him what had happened with 'Amir b. Rabi'a. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'For what reason would one of you kill his brother? Why did you not say, "May Allah bless you"? The evil eye is real. Perform wudu for him.' So 'Amir b. Rabi'a performed wudu for him, and Sahl went with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with no harm.
