✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to them while they were sitting in a gathering and said: “Shall I inform you of the best of people in station?” We said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said: “A man holding the head of his horse in the cause of Allah until it is hamstrung or he is killed. Shall I inform you of the one who comes after him?” We said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said: “A man who secludes himself in a mountain pass, establishing prayer and giving zakah, and keeping away from the evils of people. Shall I inform you of the worst of people?” We said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said: “The one who is asked by Allah and does not give by Him.”
