machine translationThere is disagreement about raising the hadith to the Prophet from ʿAṭāʾ. Ibn al-Ṣabbāḥ raised it from him, while Muḥammad b. Isḥāq made it mawqūf, narrating it from ʿAṭāʾ, from Jābir as his own statement. It is also narrated from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir: Yaḥyā b. Abī Unaysah gave it a connected chain to the Prophet from him, while Ismāʿīl b. Muslim made it mawqūf from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir as his statement. It is narrated from Sharīk, from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir as marfūʿ, but that is not sound.
in صحيح ابن حبان, p. 6038 - Ibn Ḥazm
machine translationA concealer of defects (mudallis), meaning Abū al-Zubayr, and it is not mentioned that he heard it from Jābir.
in صحيح ابن حبان, p. 6038 - ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Jawzī
machine translationA hadith that is not sound.
in صحيح ابن حبان, p. 6038 - Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī
machine translationIt seems the mawqūf version is more sound, and al-Nasāʾī was definitive about that.

machine translationThis is a hadith about which the people differed. Some narrated it from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, as marfūʿ. Ashʿath b. Sawwār and more than one other narrated it from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, as mawqūf. It seems the mawqūf version is more sound.
in صحيح ابن حبان, p. 6038 - Aḥmad ibn Shuʿayb al-Nasāʾī
machine translationThe mawqūf version is more likely to be correct.
in صحيح ابن حبان, p. 6038 - M. ibn Ḥibbān al-Bustī
صححه
machine translationHe declared it sound (ṣaḥḥaḥahu).
in صحيح ابن حبان, p. 6038 - Abū Zakariyyā Yaḥyá b. Sharaf al-Nawawī
machine translationHe considered him weak (ḍaʿīf).
in صحيح ابن حبان, p. 6038 - Ibn al-Qaṭṭān
machine translationIt is from the narration of Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir with the ambiguous "from" (muʿanʿan), not from the narration of al-Layth from him, and that is a defect. Moreover, it is from the narration of Ismāʿīl b. Muslim al-Makkī from Abū al-Zubayr, and he is very weak (ḍaʿīf jiddan).
machine translationIts attribution to the Prophet (raf') is not sound. It has been narrated from Sharīk, from Abū al-Zubayr, as raised to the Prophet (marfūʿ), but that is not sound.
