✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up one day looking distressed. Maymunah said: O Messenger of Allah, I have noticed something strange about your appearance since today. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Jibril had promised me that he would meet me last night, but he did not meet me. By Allah, he did not break his promise to me.” He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained like that the rest of his day. Then it occurred to him that there was a puppy under a tent of his, so he ordered that it be taken out. Then he took some water in his hand and sprinkled the place. When evening came, Jibril met him, and he said: “You had promised me that you would meet me last night.” He said: Yes, but we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.
