أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ حِينَ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ «رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ» فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْآخِرَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْ فُلَانًا وَفُلَانًا» وَدَعَا عَلَى أُنَاسٍ مِنَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا {لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ}

✧ He heard the Prophet ﷺ say in the Fajr prayer when he raised his head from bowing, "Our Lord, and to You is all praise," in the last rakʿah, then he said, "O Allah, curse so-and-so and so-and-so," and he supplicated against some people among the hypocrites. Then Allah, majestic and exalted, revealed: "Not for you, [O Muhammad], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or relent toward them or punish them; indeed, they are wrongdoers."
