أَخْبَرَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ الدُّورِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

«أَنَّ رَجُلًا زَارَ أَخًا لَهُ فِي قَرْيَةٍ أُخْرَى قَالَ فَأَرْصَدَ اللَّهُ لَهُ عَلَى مَدْرَجَتِهِ مَلَكًا فَلَمَّا أَتَى عَلَيْهِ قَالَ أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ؟ قَالَ أُرِيدُ أَخًا لِي فِي هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ فقَالَ لَهُ هَلْ لَهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تَرُبُّهَا؟ قَالَ لَا غَيْرَ أَنِّي أُحِبُّهُ فِي اللَّهِ قَالَ فَإِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَلَّ وَعَلَا قَدْ أَحَبَّكَ كَمَا أَحْبَبْتَهُ فِيهِ»

✧ "A man visited a brother of his in another village. Allah sent an angel to wait for him on his path. When he came to him, the angel said: Where do you intend to go? He said: I intend to visit a brother of mine in this village. The angel said: Does he owe you any favor that you seek? He said: No, except that I love him for Allah's sake. The angel said: I am Allah's messenger to you: Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has loved you as you loved him for His sake."
