✧ “Whoever makes an image, Allah will punish him until he blows into it, and he will not blow. Whoever listens to the talk of people who flee from him, molten lead will be poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever falsely claims to have seen a dream will be tasked with tying two grains of barley together, and he will not be able to do it.”

machine translationThere is disagreement about it concerning ʿIkrimah. Qatādah narrated it from ʿIkrimah from Abū Hurayrah, and there is disagreement from him about whether it was raised (marfūʿ): Hammām and al-Ḥakam b. ʿAbd al-Malik raised it from Qatādah, while Abū ʿAwānah made it a statement of the Companion (mawqūf) from Qatādah. Abū Hāshim al-Rummānī narrated it from ʿIkrimah from Abū Hurayrah as a statement of the Companion (mawqūf). Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī narrated it from ʿIkrimah from Ibn ʿAbbās. Both versions are preserved (maḥfūẓ).
