أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«لَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَى النِّسَاءِ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَفَرَأَيْتَ الْحَمْوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْحَمْوُ الْمَوْتُ»

✧ Do not enter upon women. A man from the Anṣār said, 'What about the brother-in-law, O Messenger of Allah?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The brother-in-law is death.'
