أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ

«مَا أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ قَطُّ إِلَّا بِمَا أَمَرَهُ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا وَمَا مَسَّتْ كَفُّهُ كَفَّ امْرَأَةٍ قَطُّ وَمَا كَانَ يَقُولُ لَهُنَّ إِذَا أَخَذَ عَلَيْهِنَّ إِلَّا قَدْ بَايَعْتُكُنَّ كَلَامًا»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never took the oath of allegiance from women except with what Allah, mighty and sublime, commanded him, and his hand never touched the hand of a woman. When he took their pledge, he would only say, 'I have accepted your pledge,' verbally.
