✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Zaynab bt. Jaḥsh, he invited the people and they ate. Then they sat conversing. He made as if to get up, but they did not rise. When he saw that, he stood up, and when he stood, those who stood among the people stood, while three remained seated. The Prophet ﷺ came, and the people were still sitting, so he returned. Then they got up and left. I came and informed the Prophet ﷺ that they had left. He came and entered, and I went to enter, but he let down the screen between me and him, and Allah revealed: {O you who believe, do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you} up to His saying {that, in Allah's sight, is an enormity}.
