أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ
«أَنَّ الزُّبَيْرَ بْنَ الْعَوَّامِ وَعَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ شَكَيَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْقَمْلَ فِي غَزَاةٍ لَهُمَا فَرَخَّصَ لَهُمَا فِي قُمُصِ الْحَرِيرِ فَرَأَيْتُ عَلَى كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا قَمِيصَ حَرِيرٍ»

✧ Al-Zubayr b. al-ʿAwwām and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAwf complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about lice during a campaign of theirs, so he permitted them to wear silk shirts. I saw a silk shirt on each one of them.
