✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us the dubbā’, the ḥantam, the naqīr, and the muzaffat. As for the dubbā’, it was that the clusters of grapes used to be stripped and we would put them in the dubbā’, then bury it until they died. As for the ḥantam, they were jars in which wine used to be brought to us from Syria. As for the naqīr, the people of Madinah used to take the roots of the palm tree and hollow them out, putting fresh dates and unripe dates in them, then bury them in the ground until they died. As for the muzaffat, it is these skins coated with pitch.
