✧ The sale of the arranged

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَعْتَقَ عَبْدًا لَهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُ فَأَخَذَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَبَاعَهُ وَقَالَ «أَنْتَ أَحْوَجُ إِلَى ثَمَنِهِ وَاللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَغْنَى»

✧ A man among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ manumitted a slave of his to be freed after his death, and he had no wealth other than him. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took him and sold him, and said: "You are more in need of his price, and Allah is more independent of him."
