Sahih Ibn Hibban 4876

أَخْبَرَنَا شَبَابُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ «ثُمَّ

بَايَعَ النَّاسُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ زَمَنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَهُوَ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ وَأَنَا رَافِعٌ غُصْنًا مِنْ أَغْصَانِهَا عَنْ وَجْهِهِ فَلَمْ نُبَايِعْهُ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ وَلَكِنْ بَايَعْنَاهُ عَلَى أَنْ لَا نَفِرَّ وَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَلْفٌ وَأَرْبَعُ مِائَةٍ»

✧ The people pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the time of al-Hudaybiyyah while he was under the tree, and I was lifting a branch from its branches from his face. We did not pledge allegiance to him on death, but we pledged allegiance to him that we would not flee. They were that day one thousand four hundred.
