✧ There was a treaty between Mu'awiyah and the Romans, and he was marching towards their land, intending to raid them when the treaty expired. Then an old man said, 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, no treachery!' It was 'Amr b. 'Abasah. I asked him, and he said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "If there is a treaty between a people, no knot may be untied until its term has elapsed or it is renounced to them equally."'
