✧ When it was the day of Uhud, seventy-four of the Ansar were struck, and among them six, including Hamzah, and they mutilated them. The Ansar said, “If we ever get the better of them one day, we will do more to them.” When it was the day of the conquest of Makkah, Allah sent down, “And if you retaliate, then retaliate with the like of what you were afflicted with; but if you are patient, it is better for the patient.” A man said, “No Quraysh after today.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Restrain from the people except four.”
